What it does

You are choosing between a few handmade things. compare3 puts them in one table — price, favourites, availability — highlights the best cell in each row, and then keeps watching the table after you close the tab.

The unit is the board, not the listing

That is the whole idea. Plenty of tools will tell you a listing got cheaper. This one tells you your decision changed, which happens for three different reasons:

• A rival on the board got cheaper, or gained enough favourites to take the lead.
• The one you were going to buy sold out — so the winner is now someone else, and no price moved at all.
• Something that did not exist yesterday was listed this morning and beats all of them.

The third one is the reason a board can have search words attached. Once a day compare3 goes looking with those words, and if it finds something that genuinely beats the board it brings it to you rather than waiting for you to look.

What it will not do

It has not seen the objects. It compares numbers attached to listings — it cannot tell you which mug is nicer, which maker is fairer, or whether the cheap one is cheap for a reason. "Winner" means winner by the rule you picked, and the rule is always shown next to the answer.

Where the data comes from

Public endpoints of the Etsy Open API v3 with an application keystring: batched listing detail for the candidates you added, and public listing search when a board is hunting. No OAuth, no access to anyone's private data, and you are never asked to connect an Etsy account. Every link goes to etsy.com, which is where buying happens.
